Rhodes Scholar
1997, Hanoverian, 16.3 hh. liver chestnut
By  Rohdiamant, out of: SPS Gardenia

Rhodes Scholar is an exciting new option for both German and American breeders bringing the famous blood of Rubinstein and Rohdiamant to the breeder in a Hanoverian package.  Rhodes Scholar is an extremely modern and leggy type.  He shows tremendous elasticity in his gaits and excellent character for dressage training.  After riding him for a couple of weeks,  Nicole Uphoff commented:  "Very lovely, young stallion of the highest quality. A dream to ride.  He is very easy,  elastic and comfortable to sit, light in the bridle and excellent in his character and willingness.  Very easy to handle in the stable, a perfect gentleman.  Anyone could ride him!"

He won many shows at M level in 2003 in Germany scoring  up to 8.8  and qualifying for the 6 year old Bundeschampionate.  He also qualified to represent the German team at the World Championships in Verden.  In 2004 he has started out well in the higher M level classes winning his first start of the season winning a large class.  In late 2004 and 2005 Rhodes Scholar has competed and won at PSG.

His first foal crops show leggy, modern types, many that earned first premium and were inspection site champions.  They all have wonderful temperaments and are extremely attractive.

His damline has produced 12 licensed stallion sons in Europe as well as Bundeschampions, high priced auction horses and successful dressage competitors.  His frozen semen shows 60% post thaw forward motility and will be offered to the American market on a limited basis.   As of July, 2001 60% of all mares bred to Rhodes Scholar have conceived on one breeding cycle.  Rhodes Scholar will remain in Germany to compete in dressage and stand at the breeding station of Ludwig Kathmann.   There is limited frozen semen available to the US market so take advantage now.
